Second year in a row my daughter and I went to Thanksgiving dinner @ Shaw's. Last year we both had the special Thanksgiving meal but this year we mixed it up a little bit. She had the twin filets and I had the seafood platter. We shared a creamed spinach and a lobster mac & cheese. She had a coffee old-fashioned, and I had a raspberry Mojito. Tom R was an excellent server. Our meal was wonderful and my daughter also took home a turkey dinner to have the next day. We used to go to the Sunday buffet brunch at Shaws, which was excellent, but sadly, I believe it closed down during Covid and never returned. I would love to see them bring it back.

Excellent restaurant for comfort food after a long week. We started with a bottle of wine and scallops. Amazing butter sauce with jasmine rice and sautéed spinach. Smooth flavor. Then a fantastic volcano roll made with rice paper. We devoured it quickly as it healed pur souls on a Thursday of a long week. Finally, picture is our entree and dessert. Amazing lobster, perfectly broiled with butter over a candle. The au gratin potatoes were the best I have ever had. Tuna was wonderful with an Asian sauce that had peanuts. It danced in my mouth. To end our mother daughter night, we had port and creme brulee. The iconic finish. We left content and ready for our last work day.

We had a great dinner here before a theater show. The oysters were unbelievably fresh and the seafood pasta had a high level of depth in regards to flavors and the cooking of the seafood. The place has a great vibe and service was prompt and attentive. My Dad had the seafood salad, which he orders often and says it's excellent everytime. I haven't been in years but this place did a great job for a quick dinner and I can't wait to go back. I don't totally understand the crab claws which are $25 a pop but they must be done right if they feature them. Next time, I would love to try the whole crab, table side service.

Celebrated my birthday here with my dad. We started with the dozen oysters sampler which comes with 6 types of oysters (2 each). The oysters were tasty but there was no labeling or explanation differentiating the oysters and we were given 1 lemon and 1 small servings of cocktail sauce... I expected more given the price point. After that, we each had a cup of the clam chowder soup which was creamy but not super flavorful. For the entree, we decided to go with the Surf & Turf Meal for Two which comes with house rolls, Caesar salad, jumbo shrimp cocktail, petite twin filets, 6oz jumbo lump crab cake, twin 4oz lobster tails, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. I liked that we were able to switch out the sides and dessert - we went with the brussels sprouts and key lime pie. The rolls and Caesar salad were standard. The shrimp cocktail came with 4 good-sized shrimp and was very tasty. When the main entree came, I was disappointed that the temperature of all the proteins was lukewarm. The crab cake had the most crab pieces I've ever seen in a crab cake - it was delicious and I appreciated that it wasn't just a ton of breadcrumbs. The lobster tails were the perfect size and texture, not rubbery or super seafood tasting (IYKYK). The steak was very tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. The brussels sprouts were horrible, they tasted charred and bitter. The mashed potatoes were basic. We were so full by the end of dinner, that we brought the key lime pie home. Our server (who was nice, professional, and attentive) brought out a complimentary scoop of chocolate chip ice cream with a candle which was a nice touch. We sat in the main dining area and the ambiance was upscale vibes mixed with relaxed nautical themes. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons: - No labeling or explanation of the oyster sampler - Entree served lukewarm - Unpleasant brussels sprouts

I came here this week with a few coworkers. Apparently this is a very famous seafood restaurant to go to in Chicago. I'm glad we came here. The food was very good. Not my favorite higher end restaurant but definitely a place worth trying at least once. We ordered the seafood tower which was really nice. It had great fresh options. And looked very very fancy. I can't believe I did this - but I was actually feeling some steak that night. So I ordered the filet mignon. It was very good. Cooked perfectly rare just like I like it. The waiter was very nice. He was quick and very friendly. I really enjoyed this place and would come back.

Came here for the first time recently with my husband and we had a positive dining experience! The food and service were both great and it wasn't very busy, despite it being the weekend before Valentine's Day. Upon walking in, the workers were dressed formally and we got seated right away because we had a reservation. Our waiter gave us some suggestions and we were given complimentary fresh warm dinner rolls. These were fluffy and soft, and honestly, if I didn't stop myself, I could have eaten multiple baskets of these myself. I noticed that for the other patrons that were in here, no one was dressed as nice as we were, so I don't think there is any type of dress code. I was wearing a skirt and dress shirt and my husband was wearing dress pants and a button down. However, we had many around us wearing jeans and even hats at their tables, so, interestingly, such an upscale-looking place doesn't have one. For dinner, I ordered the Grilled Ora King Salmon ($38). The salmon was delicious and had such good seasonings cooked onto it. The salmon did not come with any sides, but it did have a crimini and oyster mushroom cream sauce on top, as well as Madeira wine, and micro greens. It was also a good-sized portion in my opinion. My husband ordered the Club Room Combination ($40) plate which included a petite filet, garlic shrimp, and Hudson Canyon sea scallops. His steak was tender and had good flavor and the scallops were the highlight of his dish in his opinion. When it comes to portion sizes, he admits that it did seem small and he wanted more. As a shared side, we ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese ($18). We LOVED it so much and it had large chunks of the lobster mixed in, too. I would come here just for this and it was a great pairing to our meals. Ultimately, we would come back here. We live extremely close by, but even if we didn't, it would still be in our rotation of fancier sit-down restaurants. They have plenty of options on their menu, including sushi and poke bowls, and I would love to try those next time, as well. I think anyone can find something they would like on the menu.

Great Saturday dinner. The place was packed, reservations are a must especially in the weekend's. For appetizers, had the clam chowder and the lobster bisque. By far the clam chowder best the lobster bisque. The Shaws Signature Seafood Salad was great and the portion really big. The star of the entire dinner was Yellow GRILLED ATLANTIC YELLOWFIN TUNA. Made to perfection and good size portion. Even though the place was packed, the service was fast and the staff really friendly. Parking was a bit tough so I opted for valet. Definitely a great spot !
